The 1940s weekend 'Life on the Holme Front' has been running since 2007 and the event gets better every year. This is a fantastic weekend for the whole family, learn what village life was like during the second world war. The whole village gets involved and we at Holmewood Hall open our doors for the weekend providing space for displays and a wartime tea room. Holmewood Hall was used by the United States Office of Strategic Services (OSS) for packing airborne containers to be parachuted into occupied Europe.
As a preliminary event to our 1940’s Weekend, we are holding a 1940’s Dance here at Holme Village Hall on Saturday 22nd February 2014 at 7:30pm until late. The dance will feature swing sounds from the era with Leenie Jayne and D J Woody. Dance tickets are available now and include a Sausage and Mash Supper (vegetarian option also available) - please contact Chris Cardell on 07887 817031 for more information.
